Hi, I’m Kymberly

Owner | Therapist | Coach

I'm a Clinical Therapist, LLMSW helping people heal from childhood trauma and attachment wounds that show up in their current relationships, whether you're struggling with family boundaries, feeling anxious in friendships, or finding yourself in the same toxic relationship dynamics over and over.

I also offer coaching for those ready to take action on building healthier relationship patterns and breaking cycles that no longer serve them.

My Story

Growing up, I experienced family of origin trauma that taught me early on that my worth was tied to how much I could give and how little I could need. This set me up for years in relationships that were emotionally, psychologically, and at times physically abusive. For a long time, I equated love with self-sacrifice. I ignored red flags, stayed silent to avoid conflict, and twisted myself into someone I thought others would accept. My nervous system was constantly on high alert. Even with all the insight I had, I struggled to change the way I showed up in my relationships.

Real healing started when I began to untangle those patterns in therapy that started in my childhood. I stopped abandoning myself to keep others comfortable. I learned how to set boundaries without guilt and connect without losing my sense of self. That transformation - from surviving to truly thriving - is what led me to help the people I do today.

Why I'm Passionate About This Work

There's something deeply meaningful about witnessing someone break free from cycles that have held them back for years. I know what it's like to feel trapped in patterns you can see but can't seem to change. I understand the exhaustion of always being the strong one, the peacekeeper, the one who gives endlessly.

This work matters to me because I've lived it. Every breakthrough my clients have reminds me why I'm here, to help people reclaim their voice, their boundaries, and their sense of self in relationships.

What Makes Me Different as a Therapist

I bring both heart and real-world insight to every session.

Having healed from my own family trauma and relationship struggles, I have a natural ability to:

  • Help you see your patterns without judgment or shame

  • Understand why you developed certain survival strategies in childhood

  • Guide you through healing while keeping things grounded and real

  • Balance deep work with moments of lightness and humor

People who work with me often say that I make them feel truly seen and understood for the first time. They appreciate how I can tackle serious topics while making our sessions something they actually look forward to each week. With me, you can fall apart and rebuild - safely.

Our Work Is Focused On Your Unique Journey

Whether through therapy or coaching, you'll have space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and relationship patterns. In feeling safe and comfortable, you'll be able to gain clarity about what's keeping you stuck and start being yourself without performing.

It's important to me to provide a non-judgmental space where you can fall apart and rebuild safely, and I'm always open to feedback about what's working. There isn't a "one size fits all" approach to healing. Our work together will fit your specific needs, whether you're ready for deep therapeutic processing or practical relational skills.

As a therapist and Coach

I embrace the following philosophies

I believe that you don't have to keep carrying what was never yours to carry in the first place

I believe that healing is possible when you stop abandoning yourself to keep others comfortable

I believe that sometimes the smallest boundary you set ends up changing your entire life

I believe that learning to put yourself first isn't selfish, it's the most loving thing you can do for everyone involved

I believe that your childhood patterns made sense then, but they don't have to run your relationships now

I believe that we can stop feeling responsible for everyone else's emotions when we finally feel safe in our own bodies

My Professional Background

I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Boise State University, where I focused on Nature-Based Therapy and intimacy within relationships—areas that deeply aligned with my passion for helping people heal their connection patterns.

As a Limited Licensed Master Social Worker (LLMSW) in Michigan, I'm trained in multiple therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness techniques, and Equine Assisted Therapy. My work is also grounded in Attachment Theory and the Gottman Method for understanding relationship dynamics. I'm always learning new ways to support healing because I believe different approaches work for different people.

Beyond traditional therapy training, I'm also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) and certified Ayurveda Specialist. These holistic practices help me support not just your mind, but your whole nervous system as you heal from trauma and build healthier relationships.

Why This Matters For Your Healing

All of this training comes together to help you understand how your body holds trauma, how your nervous system learned to protect you, and how to create real, lasting change that goes beyond just talking about your problems. Whether we're working together in therapy or coaching, you're getting someone who understands healing from multiple angles.
