Therapist/Owner

Hey there! I’m Kymberly, and I'm so glad you’re here. My love for psychology and how our minds work is what brought me to this field. I've always been intrigued by how the mind and body connect and how it shapes our well-being. I’ve been on the other side of the therapy chair myself and I genuinely enjoy the journey of therapy. I believe that therapy can be super helpful, even when things aren’t in crisis mode—sometimes that’s when the most growth and healing happen. Having been a client, I understand many of the struggles you might be facing. My aim is to provide you with a safe, nonjudgemental space where your nervous system can relax for 50 minutes a week, allowing you to explore, heal, and grow. I’m excited to support you on your path!

Credentials

I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Boise State University, where my studies focused on Nature-Based Therapy and intimacy-specific areas within relationships. Currently, I am a Limited Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Michigan.

I am trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities including ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), Mindfulness techniques, Equine Assisted Therapy, and many others - I love to learn.

In addition to my social work background, I hold certifications as an RYT-200 (Registered Yoga Teacher, 200 hours) and an Ayurveda Specialist, integrating holistic practices to support your mental and physical well-being.

    Funny yet Real

While therapy often delves into deep topics, I believe in infusing humor throughout our sessions. There’s no reason therapy can’t be both meaningful and light-hearted. I want therapy to be a highlight of your week, something you eagerly anticipate each time we meet.

    Therapeutic Resources & Psychoeducation:

I'm passionate about empowering clients with the knowledge to make positive life changes. Throughout our sessions, I provide evidence-based psychoeducation and a wealth of resources—from podcasts and reading materials to exercises and social media links. Expect some homework between sessions to keep our progress moving forward. Your dedication to therapy is key!

    Truly cares about clients

I genuinely care about you, both in and out of our sessions. I'm here to support you through difficult times and celebrate your successes. Your wins are just as important to me as the challenges you're working through.

Outside of therapy

When I'm not in the therapy room, you can usually find me hiking with my dog all around West Michigan. I practice what I preach, and nature-based therapy is one of the best things you can do for yourself. If I'm not hiking, I might be exploring Northern Michigan, Mackinac Island, or scenic country roads, embracing the beauty and tranquility they offer.

Though I'm a homebody by nature, you might also spot me out and about in town with friends or savoring a cozy moment in a local coffee shop. Feel free to say hi if you see me. At home, I'm often diving into psychoeducation books or immersing myself in YouTube videos about homesteading—there's always something new to learn!

And if I'm not doing any of that, you can bet I'm at the gym, staying active. I'm passionate about living a balanced and enriching life, just like I encourage my clients to do. Let's embrace the journey together!
